This weekend the senior netball teams made the four hour coach journey to Condover Hall in Shropshire. On Saturday, we were up bright and early and went straight out to the OAA centre, followed by two training sessions on ball handling and drill practice. After a lovely lunch, despite the scorching heat hitting highs of 30°C, the 2nd team performed exceptionally well in their first match of the season against Woldingham school, ending with a scoreline of 35-0. Later in the evening both teams took part in two more hours of training sessions, followed by the 1st team match which brought home a second win of the day, ending on a scoreline of 32-4.
Sunday commenced with the laser maze where Miss Brown shocked us all with her spy talents. We took part in valuable training sessions firstly led by Ella Bowen, focusing on defending and cutting the line of the ball, followed by an attacking session that was centred around communication in partnerships and getting depth. The rain didn’t stop us as both the 1st and 2nd team won their afternoon matches. Then the tired team made the journey back and only awakened for a quick KFC stop.
